About Us

My photo
We are the Pomario Family and we used to live in Johannesburg, South Africa. On the 10 July 2009 at 8.05 our little family grew to 3 when our precious daughter Natalia was born. We were blessed that she had chosen us to be her parents and we were privileged to have her in our lives. We believe she is here to teach us many lessons and give us plenty of joy. We relocated to Australia in April 2011. These are our stories……

Belly Update - 24.2 Weeks

Well well well..... I have really grown in the last 4 weeks. This is the last time I can wear these black pants. Lots of shiny stretch marks now, but Kim is diligently putting vitamin e oil on my belly every night, what more can we do? My boobs are also getting much bigger and I will have to purchase maternity bras soon. I have put on 15kgs already and getting a real pudgy face......... seriously this is bad, but as I said before, I'm not going to get all cut up about it, it's for a good reason. I have a lot of movement now, she's real busy!!!
On another note - I received my new ID Book on the weekend, so now I'm officially Leigh Cindy Pomario - how does that ring?

Goodbye Veggie Villain - Hello Andy

Veggie Villain

Andy the Landy

Ah, Kim had to say goodbye to Veggie Villain this morning, and I was there for him, holding his hand so that he would be strong. VGV the Audi A4 has been a trusted part our family since Nov 2006. So we bid her fairwell and make way for Andy the Landy. Yip, Andy joined our family this afternoon. He is going to take us on many SA holidays, the KNP, Berg here we come. We are off now to take him for a spin.............

Cape Town - March 2009 Results

Yip, The Mountain that was on fire when we arrived on Wednesday night!

Dinner with some of the Directors' and their wives

Picnic at The Spier Wine Farm - Kim with Howard the duck

Me and Brett, soon to be Uncle Brett!!!
Hello All

So what have we been up to that last while you ask?

Kim and I were in Cape Town since Wednesday evening and arrived back last night. We were there for the Cashbuild half-yearly results. What's nice about it is I get to go away for a couple of days to Cape Town and do some shopping with the other Directors' wives and generally just do a time out. This time Kim took the Friday "off" (even though he worked most of the day) and he decided to take me for a picnic at the Spier Wine Farm. I on the other hand, had really swollen puffed up ankles, feet and fingers. A result from the hectic shopping and walking the V&A Waterfront Shopping Mall flat the previous day, so I was a little under the weather myself and a bit worried that I couldn't see my ankles that were once there. Friday evening was a family affair - Brett & Tania invited us over for dinner. Yummy, Tania always makes such nice meals - thanks or having us!!!

What else have we been up to? We have been organising the baby room. Last Sunday we went to this wonderful place outside Muldersdrift where we found wooden themed decor. We have chosen the 'Teddy Bear' theme. An easy one so no one can struggle with this one, and the colours are mostly light pink, lime green and browns. We have also ordered a sleigh cot with bedding, a compactum and curtains all with matching colours and motifs. This should take 8 weeks or so for delivery.

So we have been rather busy and I am feeling rather tired again..... having naps everyday is really needed. I don't know what I'm going to do tomorrow when I'm back at work!

IT'S A GIRL !!!!!!!!!!!!!

My long legs and strong calf muscle to cycle the 94.7 with Dad

Can you see my head and belly?

Look at my 2 cute little feet.

Yay, finally we know that we were right all along. Kim and I both ordered a girl and that's what we're getting. Yay yay yay.
We waited long enough for this visit, this last month took forever!!!

Other details we know about her is she weighs 459g, she has all her fingers and toes, she has big calf muscles to cycle with (like her Dad) and her mouth and lips are well formed. The gynae even said he could see her sticking out her tongue. We also booked for a 4D Scan in 6 weeks time, so keep posted for these clear amazing pictures!
This evening we ordered furniture for her room and chose linen and curtains. We have a 8 week wait so I hope I don't get too impatient.
On another note, I am getting much bigger and my back is starting to give problems. I am struggling to sleep at night, so we bought a pregnancy pillow worm thing, which isn't that comforatble, but forces me to sleep on my left side. I'm lucky to sleep right through the night without either needing to wee or Kim snorning up a storm. But never mind that, I caught myself snoring the other night, waking myself up.
Kim and I are just thrilled to bits!

Kai Swimming

Oh, and I just had to share these pictures of my nephew Malakai having fun in the Jacuzzi. It always looks like he's really enjoying himself....... and I just have to show you all the good time he's having. Kim always makes sure the Jacuzzi is clean, filled up and at the right temperature when we Kai is coming around.

Love you my little man........

Your aunty and uncle

Happy Birthday to Me

So, now I'm officially in my 30's........ don't feel like a whole I'm 32.
My birthday was on Thursday, 5 March, but Kim was away and it was a rather horrible day at work, I could seriously have just run away, depressing really. But Kim has made up for it 10 fold. He took me (and my Mom who was up from Durban) to dinner at Soi in Melville. Lovely Vietnamese cuisine, yummy.
Then today he invited my Mom, his Mom, my Dad, Loren, Darryl and Kai for a wonderful Sunday meal of roast fillet with baby potatoes, butternut and green beans. The fillet was smothered in a creamy mushroom morish sauce and everyone forced themselves to have seconds and we're all still talking about it. I hope Kim realises that the bar has been raised and we all know now what he is capable of and now next time he has to make something even more spectacular.
I of course baked a delectable chocolate cake, not, that also went down well with tea and coffee later on. Dont' know what I would do without my favourite baker no.10. (I really need to find out who she is, from our local home industry shop).
Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday wishes!!! From SA and all over the world - and most suprisingly from Lisa Burger and the other Burgers in Germany - thanks all.......
Lots of Love Leigh

Belly Update - 20.1 Weeks

So we've reached the halfway mark and growing at a rate of knots. My belly has noticeably gotten bigger in the last 2 weeks. Stretch marks are appearing, not happy about this. Sleeping is becoming more difficult, but hey this is only the start......... Kim's jobs so far is to put oil on my belly at night before I go to sleep and to massage the soles of my feet. So far we are have been looking at cots and have decided on one that we will order next weekend.
Just a short update, specially for those family and friends that are far away and scattered all over.
