Natalia's 1st Christmas

We went to my sister Loren's house for Christmas Eve. Natalia and Malakai got to open 1 gift each. Natalia got a doll with wings from Granny Bugs and Malakai got a really cool ride on toy from us. Here we are sitting on my sister's porch on probably the hottest evening this holiday.

All of us having Christmas Eve Dinner at the Stow's. Kim, Natalia, Leigh, Granny Bugs, Darryl, Loren (Harlan inside) and Malakai. Loren is due in 3 weeks time.

Natalia swimming in pressies. There were just too many to open and she got so over stimulated, so we continued opening her gifts in the afternoon when we got home from our Christmas Day Picnic....shame, it was so overwhelming for her and we wanted her to enjoy it.

This was our 1st Christmas as a family and we thoroughly enjoyed it, especially seeing it through Natalia's eyes. Next Christmas she'll be running around and into everything - hard to imagine!

Saturday was Natalia's 1st Christmas experience and I was so excited for her. We went to the Rooihuiskraal Terrein in Centurion, where a group of us got together to celebrate and hand out pressies. We had a very own Santa which was a treat. Natalia got the cutest 'princess fairy bath set', including a tiara, wand and mirror. The wand makes the cutest sound and lights up and the mirror and tiara are made of foam so everything can get wet and she just loves it. But the wrapping paper was also extremely fascinating and she could have played with that forever too. She also got to meet Cole for the second time, the first being when they were 4 weeks old. Cole was born 3 days before her. I must say she just loves other babies, kids and people in general - my social butterfly........

This is so exciting and I can not wait for the Real Christmas Day. This will be the first Christmas that I am looking forward to since I was a child because I will be living it through my own child again...

Natalia just loves water. She spashes about, gets her face wet and she just loves it. She takes after her mother who loved water just as much since forever.

She is totally fearless, so I will need to take her for lessons when the time is right. We don't want her falling in and not knowing what to do.......

5 Months Old Today!!!

My baby girl is a whole 5 months old already. I cant believe that almost 22 weeks ago I gave birth to this gorgeous girl. It still feels surreal sometimes. Alien. I remember seeing her come out. She belongs to me. I grew her. She was inside me. She was 1mm big/small once. Weird to think this. She's mine. She's Kim's and mine. Wow!? I want to eat her up. I want to laugh and dance and shout. I want to cry. Have I ever loved someone this much? Our journey has just begun.....

Wow. Time is really flying by. I cant believe my baby girl is 21 weeks old already.

Natalia is now eating cereal twice a day. I started her off on rice cereal 4 weeks ago and today was her first taste of corn cereal - all went well, she likes her food. She only gets 2tsp per meal, at 10h30 and at 18h30 and then she gets her 5 bottles per day as well.

We also put up our Christmas tree today. Natalia enjoys looking at the different coloured flashing lights.

We've Been Married 1 Year Today

Hello my gorgeous husband.

Wow. How fast 1 year has flown by....... a year ago today we were stressed out, having planned our wedding for 11 months it was all happening today. Wow. And just 2 days before on the 26th we found out that Natalia was there; just a tiny olive pip and only existing for 7 weeks. Wow exciting. What a whirlwind year it's been. We became an instant family overnight; just the way we wanted it. We are blessed!

Now bring on the year no.2.

You will never believe it -

Natalia slept through 3 nights in a row; not a peep from her. And I had the best sleep in it feels like forever. It happened on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I was too scared to tell anyone in case it broke the spell. But anyway, she didn't sleep through last night (Thursday). I had to get up 3 times between 2.15 and 3.15.......but nevertheless!!! This could be the start of it, I'm being positive. I also bought her a 'teething necklace' which people swear by, but I can not see how it works. Its supposed to calm babies down during the teething process. I don't know if this is what has helped her sleep through so successfully.

What's changed lately you may ask? Well, Natalia has been eating cereal every evening at 18.30 for the last month or so. She now gets 2tsp of cereal mixed with formula and shortly after eating she passes out until her 20.30 bottle and then she's hopefully a goner until the next morning when she wakes up around 4.30 for her next bottle. She also, since this week, gets 2tsp of cereal in the morning around 10.30. My little girl is growing so fast.........

Anyway, hold thumbs that my baby girl sleeps through more and more.

Natalia is giggling more and more these days. Dolly was blowing bubbles yesterday and she thought this was the funniest thing. Dolly also spends afternoons sitting outside in the garden with Natalia (when it's warm) and let's her lie there without her nappy on. It's good to air her bum out and she just loves it.
